Our family has been in Silicon Valley for generations. As a builder of new tech my work usually focuses on the here and now, but in the long view I know we are merely participants in bigger stories. We play our role building tomorrow on the shoulders of yesterday.

My dad, Dave 4.0, managed the rollout of the first Apple Mouse, right before I was born. (It was also designed and built by people I've since made colleagues). So I recently decided to retrofit an original Mac M0100 mouse with modern capabilities so I can keep a "memento a priori" under my fingertips, even while designing, engineering, and CADing up new new things.

Laser optics, multichannel Bluetooth, USB rechargeable Li-ion battery, 3 buttons & scroll. The ergonomics leave much to be desired, and it may be sacrilegious, but it's nice to have this piece of history back in action and creating.
