His masters thesis at Stanford University's Design School focused on "Meaning Generative Design" – a transcendent fusion of soul, beauty, and the self with his background in engineering and manufacturing. At the same time he instilled this philosophy into his teaching as an instructor at Stanford's student machine shop, the Product Realization Lab.

spending most of his free time playing acid-funk or acoustic folk guitar, or cooking for his wife (a very busy surgeon at Stanford Hospital), and building even more stuff. He bikes to work, is restoring a '66 Mustang, and will gladly stay up late discussing metaphysics, relationships, or the future of design as an evolving discipline and its place in the world.
